Local birding: 3rdw Yellow-legged Gull - Whinney Hill Tip, Lancs - 1st Dec 2008.

Below: Three 'grabs' of the YLG in flight.

This bird was the highlight of 7hrs local Gull watching today. The low point was slipping horrendously from a fence at Whinney Hill, trapping my left leg between the top two planks as the rest of me continued towards the ground, further damaging already damaged ligaments in an already dodgy left knee in the process. Miraculously, I still had the presence of mind to keep the Scope and Tripod up in the air preventing any damage! An adult Med Gull in the roost at Fishmoor was the first seen for at least a fortnight.
